Celebrate the many faces of joy and love with this family physical activity video. All families benefit from being physically active. This video encourages families to choose a healthy, active lifestyle. Parents, grandparents and young children from a variety of cultures are depicted having fun being physically active. Developmentally appropriate activities are coordinated with lively music to give families affordable and creative ways to be physically active inside and outside of the house. The reaction from families has been that children encourage their relatives to get up and get moving using the ideas and activities in the DVD. The DVD has and English and a Spanish menu. The Spanish version is narrated in Spanish, and the songs remain the same.

Production and use of this DVD is a community-wide project. First 5 and the Nutrition Network funded the production and WIC, Community Wellness and Prevention Programs, and First Baptist Head Start worked together as co-producers. The video/DVD has been distributed in WIC physical activity classes, Head Start preschools, and day care sites.

Patty Kimbrell, PHYSICAL ACTIVITY specialist, directed the DVD. She is available to train parents and staff of preschool children to weave developmentally appropriate physical activities into family and preschool routines. Patty has 5 years experience training WIC parents and staff, including 150 WIC agencies, on how to weave developmentally appropriate physical activities into family and preschool daily routines. Angela Russ, an award-winning producer of interactive children’s music, produced the music for the project, and her company, Russ InVision, is the exclusive distributor of the DVD.  She can also obtain the printed guides. "Have Fun and Be Active" PHYSICAL ACTIVITY DVDs can be reproduced in bulk at a very low cost. Contra Costa purchased 6000 VHS tapes for $1.50 each. As a central contact, she has been able to assist smaller WIC offices by pooling resources and combining orders to save money.
