Educational components are introduced and suggestions are presented for different ages and stages to challenge children at different levels. Use one activity for young children to practice their ABCs, with the understanding that older children can use a variation of the same activity to review more challenging concepts. Active participation is encouraged to foster social interaction. Chalk play stimulates the senses, develops fine and gross motor skills, improves hand-eye coordination, and promotes hands-on learning. It remains an inexpensive means of entertainment that offers a messy world of possibilities without electricity or having to recharge.
