Tip #10 - Show Price: Things I Learned Self-Publishing on KDP
Updated: Apr 9, 2019
In case you missed my previous posts, I am sharing what I’ve learned as I move forward in the self-publishing process using Amazon's KDP. I don’t claim to have all of the answers, so chime in if you would like to add your expertise.
#10 –This is kind of a no-brainer, but I thought I'd mention it anyway. When I sell at conferences, book fairs, and author visits, I always offer a show special. One of my books retails for $12.95 on KDP and Amazon. If I purchase 15 of my books at cost, one 32-page full color picture book will cost me $3.65. Add tax and shipping, and each book goes up to between $4.55 and $4.65 each. I use this cost to calculate my show sale price, which is typically $10 per book or (3) for $25, a noticeable savings for my customers and an incentive to purchase at the show.
Did you know you can publish your book on Amazon KDP in as fast as a week for no money down? Whether you are just starting to write a book or you’ve finished one and have no idea where to turn, this book will help you get your book launched into the market.
